How to create or upload a book cover image
Every book on Next Chapters can have a cover image. This helps visually identify your book on your dashboard and anywhere it appears across the platform.
You can either generate a cover using AI or upload your own image, depending on your account type and preference.
If you are a subscriber, you can generate a cover image using the built-in AI tool. To do this, open your book and navigate to the book setup or book details area. If you are still working through the setup checklist, use the Create Your AI-Generated Working Cover task. If your checklist is complete, use the Edit Book Details option from the book dashboard.
The system will generate multiple cover options using your book’s title, synopsis, and other details. You can review the options and select the one that best fits your book. The selected cover is applied immediately. You can generate new options or change your selection at any time.
If you are using a free account, or if you prefer full control over your design, you can upload your own cover image. To do this, go to the same book setup or book details area and choose the option to upload a cover image.
You can create your own cover using external tools such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop, then upload the finished image to your book. Once uploaded, the new cover will appear immediately across the platform.
You can replace your cover image at any time, whether it was generated or uploaded. Changing the cover does not affect your chapters, worksheets, or contributors. It only updates the visual representation of your book. The cover is not saved in our book’s AI context memory, so creating or editing it will not affect what Next Chapters considers when discussing your book online with you.
Cover images are flexible and meant to evolve with your project. You can start with a simple working cover and update it later as your book develops.
