How to delete your account
If you decide to permanently delete your account, you can do so from your account settings. There is a separate Delete Account button in your profile or account section.
Deleting your account permanently removes your login access to Next Chapters. This action cannot be undone.
When you delete your account, your access to the platform is removed, but previously approved contributions to community books and private group books are not deleted. Chapters you submitted and that were approved into collaborative books remain part of those books.
This policy exists to protect books in progress. Removing approved chapters after publication into a collaborative project would disrupt the structure of the book and negatively impact other contributors. For that reason, approved chapters remain intact even if the original author deletes their account.
This condition is included in the Terms of Service and is agreed to when an account is created.
Deleting your account does not automatically remove your authorship credit from approved chapters. Your credited work remains attributed within the book history.
If you only want to stop paying for premium features but keep your account and access to your books, use the unsubscribe option instead. Unsubscribing downgrades your account to the free plan without removing your profile or contributions.
Deleting your account should only be used if you intend to permanently leave the platform.
