How to use Book Chat

Book Chat is an AI-assisted tool that helps you think through your book using the information you have already entered. It is designed to support planning, problem-solving, and exploration rather than automate writing or make decisions for you.

To use Book Chat, open the book you want to work on and launch Book Chat from within that book. Book Chat always operates in the context of the currently selected book. This ensures that responses are grounded in your chapters, worksheets, and saved reference material rather than generic advice.

Once Book Chat is open, you can ask questions in plain language. You might ask about a character’s motivation, a plot issue, how a worksheet entry affects later chapters, or what consequences a particular decision might have. Book Chat responds based on what it can see in your book and your permissions.

Book Chat works best when questions are specific. Referencing a character, chapter, worksheet, or earlier decision gives Book Chat clearer context. Broad questions still work, but grounded questions tend to produce more relevant and consistent responses.

Subscribers can also use Book Chat alongside worksheets. You can ask Book Chat to discuss a worksheet, help you think through how to answer a worksheet prompt, or generate suggested answers for worksheet fields. Any AI-generated content is optional and fully editable. Nothing is saved unless you explicitly save it.

Book Chat does not change your book automatically. It does not edit chapters, submit content, approve changes, or overwrite worksheet entries. All responses are suggestions that you control. You can apply them, modify them, or ignore them entirely.

In personal books, Book Chat can reference all book content because you are the sole author. In community and private group books, Book Chat only uses information you are allowed to access based on your role. It never references other contributors’ private drafts.

Book Chat can be used at any stage of writing. You can use it while planning, while drafting, during revision, or when reviewing feedback. Because it draws from saved book information, its responses evolve as your book evolves.

Book Chat is a subscriber-only feature. It is designed to function as a contextual thinking partner, helping you reason through your work while keeping authorship, ownership, and decision-making fully in your hands.
