How Book Chat uses everything you have entered about your book

Book Chat is an AI-assisted tool that responds using the information you have already entered about your book. It does not operate in isolation or generate answers without context. Instead, it draws from your book’s existing material to provide responses that are grounded in your specific project.

Book Chat uses information from multiple sources within your book. This includes your chapters, saved worksheets, character information, plot and structure data, and other reference material associated with the book. The more information you have entered, the more specific and relevant Book Chat’s responses can be.

Book Chat does not treat all content equally. Structured information, such as worksheets and character data, is weighted more heavily because it is intentional and explicitly saved as reference material. Freeform notes and chapter text provide additional context but are not treated as authoritative in the same way as saved worksheets.

Book Chat respects book type and permissions. In personal books, Book Chat can reference all information in the book because you are the sole author and decision-maker. In community and private group books, Book Chat only uses information that the current user is allowed to access based on their role and the book’s settings. Draft chapters written by other contributors are never used.

Book Chat is a subscriber-only feature. Subscribers can ask questions about their book, discuss story elements, explore alternatives, and generate suggestions related to chapters or worksheets. Book Chat can also help generate suggested answers for worksheet fields or help think through revisions and structural decisions.

All Book Chat responses are suggestions, not decisions. Any text generated by Book Chat is fully editable and optional. You can use it as written, revise it, or ignore it entirely. Book Chat does not change your book automatically and does not save anything unless you choose to apply or save the content yourself.

Book Chat does not override your work or introduce hidden changes. It does not rewrite chapters, modify worksheets, or alter book content without your explicit action. Its role is to assist thinking, not replace authorship or editorial judgment.

Because Book Chat relies on existing book information, its responses will change as your book evolves. Updating worksheets, revising chapters, or adding new material can influence future responses. This allows Book Chat to remain aligned with your current vision rather than locking you into earlier decisions.

Book Chat is designed to function as a contextual assistant. It helps you reason through your book using what you have already created, while keeping full control in your hands.
