Which worksheets and features require a subscription

Next Chapters offers both free and subscriber-only worksheet functionality. This allows writers to explore planning tools at their own pace while reserving advanced features for subscribers who want deeper support and analysis.

All users can view and fill out basic worksheets where available. Free users can enter their own information, save worksheets intentionally using the save button, and reference worksheet content while writing chapters. Worksheets saved by free users remain part of the book and are preserved just like any other reference material.

Some worksheet features are available only to subscribers. These include AI-assisted functionality embedded into worksheets. Subscribers can use Book Chat to ask questions about a worksheet, discuss how it relates to their book, or explore ideas connected to the worksheet’s purpose.

Subscribers may also generate suggested answers for worksheet fields using AI. These AI-generated responses are optional and fully editable. They are provided as suggestions, not final content. Subscribers remain in full control of what is saved, and AI-generated text can be modified, expanded, or replaced entirely with original writing.

Subscriber features do not remove or limit manual input. You can always write worksheet answers yourself without using AI tools. Subscriptions simply add additional ways to think through problems, generate ideas, or test possibilities while planning your book.

Worksheet access in community and private group books may also depend on role and book configuration. Even with a subscription, you may only be able to view or edit worksheets if the book’s permissions allow it.

Subscription status does not affect whether worksheets are saved or how they are stored. All saved worksheets, regardless of subscription level, become part of the book’s reference material and persist with the book over time.

Subscriptions are designed to enhance worksheets, not replace the writer’s judgment. The goal is to provide optional tools that support planning and consistency while leaving creative decisions fully in the hands of the author.
