Overview of the dashboard and main navigation
The dashboard is the central workspace in Next Chapters. It is where you return to pick up where you left off, see your books, and move to other parts of the platform.
When you log in, the dashboard is the first page you see. You can also return to it at any time using the main navigation.

The dashboard is organized around your books. Depending on your role and activity on the platform, you may see sections for books you own, books you manage, and books you are part of. Each book card provides quick access to that project so you can continue writing, review chapters, or manage settings without digging through menus.
If you are new to the platform or have not yet created or joined a book, the dashboard may appear mostly empty. This is expected. Once you create a book or join an existing one, it will appear here automatically.
The main navigation appears consistently across the platform and gives you access to your dashboard, books, tools, and account settings. This navigation is designed to remain familiar no matter where you are, so you always have a reliable way to move around.
If you are ever unsure how you arrived at a page or how to get back to your work, returning to the dashboard is the fastest way to reorient yourself.
