How to submit a photo to character sheets

Character sheets allow you to attach an image to help visually represent a character. Adding a photo can make it easier to picture the character and keep their appearance consistent throughout your book.

To add a photo, open your book and navigate to the character section. Select the character you want to update, then locate the image or photo field on the character sheet.

From there, you have two options depending on your account type.

If you are using a free account, you can upload an image from your device. Select the upload option, choose a file, and save your changes. The image will appear on the character sheet once saved.

If you are a subscriber, you can either upload your own image or generate one using AI. The AI option uses information from your character sheet to create one or more visual representations of the character. You can review the generated options and select the one that best fits your character.

AI-generated images are suggestions. You can keep them as they are, generate new variations, or replace them with your own uploaded image at any time.

Images are optional and are used for reference only. They do not directly affect chapter content, but they can help guide how characters are described and understood.

In community books and private group books, adding or changing a character image may be limited to users with permission to edit character sheets. Contributors without those permissions will not see the option to upload or generate images.

In personal books, you can add, generate, or change character images freely.

Character images are meant to support your creative process. You can use realistic photos, illustrations, or AI-generated images, as long as you have the right to use any uploaded content.
